Drum Roll Please....
So I'm gonna tell you a story that you may or may not know. Now bare with me because I've only been told this story a few times so I hope I get it right. My mommy and daddy got married 8/8/8. They had been dating each other for a very long time. Mommy and daddy knew right away that they wanted a baby. So it wasn't long before they began trying. Daddy joked with mommy he wanted a baby before he turned 30. Well on his 29th birthday mommy found out she was pregnant! Daddy says it was the best birthday gift ever! I was due 10/10/09! Mommy and Daddy was hoping for 9/9/9 but whatever. They couldn't wait to tell everyone! After just one positive test mommy began calling people. My "Aunt" Brandi was first. Since she is all the way in Japan and it was early morning mommy called her first because she knew she would be up. Then she told Granny, Aunt Sharon, Harold, and anyone else she could think of. Daddy made lots of calls too! I was a dream come true for them. So the next week mommy lived it up. She stocked up on books, signing up for baby stuff on the Internet, and dreaming of maternity clothes (yep she's a true girl, dreaming of clothes). Daddy was spreading the news at work that he was gonna be a daddy :) You couldn't wipe the smiles off their faces. Then exactly one week later daddy called mommy to let her know that Fed Ex had laid him off. Mommy's world was crushed. At first it was supposed to be a 90 day layoff, which turned into a 180 day layoff. Then it was permanent. Daddy became unemployed. Now through all of this time daddy stayed strong. He kept himself busy he worked on lots of little projects in the house that had built up over the years. He learned how to tile a floor thanks to Uncle D. He painted my room, put my bed together, made our house a home and managed to cook and clean because mom had morning sickness ( I thought it just made you sick so you couldn't eat but mom couldn't clean either ha ha ha) During all this time daddy was still looking for a job. Well nobody was hiring. Weeks turned into months and next thing they knew it was time for me to arrive. Daddy heard about a job at the Coweta County Prison Camp a few months before I was born. He printed out the application and filled it out. They only keep your application on file for 45 days, so he and mom would mark down the day he took it to the office and wait those 45 days and if he didn't hear from anyone he would do it over again. Well he finally got a call the last week in September for an interview. September 30th Mommy had a Dr.'s appointment. When she saw the Dr. her blood pressure was really high so they sent her to the hospital. Daddy had an interview the next morning so they were anxious for me to arrive so daddy could still make the interview. Daddy said ever since he was little he wanted to be in the law enforcement so this was a dream job. Well mommy didn't have me on September 30th. Granny and Harold came to the hospital to sit with mommy while Daddy made his way back to Newnan for the interview. I was born October 1. Well two weeks later daddy got a call back for a second interview. He went and we didn't hear anything else for a few weeks. Daddy decided to call them back since he hadn't heard from them. Well they had filled the two positions...BUT they did have two more openings. We practically ran to the office so daddy could put in another application. Well he got a call for the first interview. Then a second, then Tuesday of this week Daddy got called in for a third interview which was yesterday. He had to meet with the Warden. Daddy said things went great. The Warden said that he would give his recommendation that daddy be hired but it might be a week or two before we heard anything else. Waiting waiting waiting...well yesterday Daddy got a call from the Lieutenant and he said Daddy was to go get his physical Monday morning and report for....dum dumm da dumm....work Tuesday morning at 5:45. Mommy is still doing a happy dance (which I wish I could work the video camera because it's quiet funny). So upon Daddy passing his physical and then passing the other few things (running, sit-ups, and push-ups) he is once again employed. Mommy realizes this job is gonna take daddy away from us for a little while. He will spend a month in Forsyth for training and probably a week in Atlanta learning the proper way to shot a gun but it will be all worth it in the long run. I am gonna have a corrections officer for a daddy, yep me, Corbin Wilson Tweedell. That's the coolest thing ever! I'm so proud of my daddy, well I've always been proud of him. He takes care of me and mommy, and he loves us both. I would be proud of daddy even if he was flipping burgers at McDonald's but a corrections officer is way more cool :) Last night we took time to celebrate. We went shopping at Sam's Club, Wal-mart, and then Granny and Harold took us to Cracker Barrel for dinner. It was a great night. So dad has a birthday coming up soon. He had a baby before he was 30, and he's got his dream job...so he's happy and content with life. Me and mommy are so excited for daddy. So that's our big news here at the Tweedell house. Oh and we have other big news Aunt Jeanine is coming this weekend...could life get any better?
