What Summer is Over?

Ok...mom just informed me that Summer isn't over just the summer program at the library. Phew that was close. OK so tonight was the last program at the library :( We have had a blast this summer at the library. Who knew the library had so many things to do. We've been to puppet shows, saw reptiles, met an author, seen two magic shows, sang, read books, and met Fiddlin' Dan. I'm sure I'm leaving out something. All in all it's been a lot of fun. Some things more than others. I loved Fiddlin' Dan and I love when Mr. Jimmy sings and plays the guitar (but he still isn't better than Uncle D).

Even though I'm only 9 months old, Miss Lynn told mommy that I could sign up for the reading program. So she signed me up. The book up above is my favorite one that mommy read to me. Aunt Sharon and Uncle D even bought a copy for me to have (which worked out great because we met the author, and he autographed it for me!) Mommy read me 11 books this summer (ok mommy reads to me everyday but you only have to list 10 books to get a prize!). After you read 10 books you take your booklet back to the library and you get lots of cool stuff! I've turned my list in and here's what I got!

(sorry I can't figure out how to rotate the picture) Anyway for those that can't see it sideways I got a stuffed fish, a book mark, a coupon for a free waffle from the waffle house, a free cup of ice dream from Chick-fil-A, a certificate from Chick-fil-A, a certificate from the library, a free dinner from IHOP, and a free meal from Texas Roadhouse!)

So now that the program is over when are back to just baby time on Monday mornings. Which is ok with me. I'm making so many new friends at baby time and so is mommy. Ok that's all for tonight. I've super tired and mommy is super excited that I'm finally tired. Night night!

On The Go

Geez...how can I tell mom I'm tired of going. This morning we went to the library for a story teller. I didn't find this fun at ALL! Mom and I have only missed one event at the library this summer, and that was because we were at Vacation Bible School. So anyway we stayed for about 30 minutes and listened to the story teller, then I think we ran about a million errands, which I'm sure would have went by faster if mom hadn't forgot her wallet at home (we had to go back and get it). I only took one nap today so I'm sure I won't be able to sleep tonight.
We tried to take a walk today but it started raining just like it did yesterday. Two days in a row now we've been caught in the rain right in the middle of our walk. Thank goodness Harold comes to get us. Daddy is off work tomorrow and Thursday so who knows what we will do. I hope to do a lot of napping with daddy while it rains. Me and daddy love to nap while it rains, and I love to sleep in the big bed with daddy anytime, rain or no rain. OK that's all for tonight, think I'll try to give mommy some time to herself. Night night.

Weekend Recap

What a weekend. Friday we met up with Miss Brandi, Isabel, Lia, Miss Holly, and Darbee at McDonald's. Mommy ordered me my very first happy meal! Can you believe it! I'm only 9 months old! If I could I would make her mommy of the year, not sure everyone else would agree though. I had some bread off of the hamburger and the cheese. And the best part I got a toy! Mommy got a new cake pan from Miss Brandi. Mommy is going to make the girl's birthday cake again this year and they are really into horses! Mommy gave Aunt Brandi my old bouncy seat too. I'm way to big for it, I'm moving on to better things! After lunch we went to Wal-mart.
Friday night we went to Sam's and Cracker Barrel with Granny and Harold. Boy do I love those Chicken and Dumplings from Cracker Barrel! Saturday morning none of us could sleep. We all woke up around 5:30. By 7 am we were in the car and headed to grab breakfast. I fell asleep in the car, which never happens, so mommy and daddy took advantage of it and they did a little yard sale shopping. The big finds of the day? Two blue pool noodles and a Speed Limit Sign for my birthday party! We spent the rest of the afternoon in the pool. Daddy made dinner for mommy Saturday night and we had a nice quiet evening. Sunday morning I stayed with Granny so mommy and daddy could go look for party supplies (don't you know my birthday is coming up fast). When they got back I was really tired so I took my nap at Granny's so mommy and daddy could swim. Sunday night mommy made a big Mexican dinner and they pigged out. I had macaroni and beef dinner and a few cookies :) Last night I wasn't tired even though mommy was. I think I finally went to sleep around 1:40 this morning. Even though we were tired we went to baby time this morning and boy am I glad we did. I had a great time. I saw Abby, Ian (my newest friend), and I met a new little girl this morning. Her name is Ashland. Baby time wears me out so I think I'm gonna go take a nap. We have a busy day tomorrow. Story time at the library then who knows what mommy has up her sleeve! Hope y'all have a good Monday!

It's the Weekend

Well almost. So I have a new best friend...well he's not exactly new, but i've become a daddy's boy. I think mommy is jealous. I call him all throughout the day. Da-da this da-da that mommy says. I have become so interested in daddy that I don't want to eat when he's around. So I am super excited the weekend is here because daddy doesn't have to work this weekend! This means I can play with his badge and his handcuffs!

Anyway not to leave mommy out. She and I went to the library tonight. I didn't really want to go. I was really tired but she took me anyway. Tonight was the Birds of Prey Show. I only saw one bird the whole time. We ended up getting 4 books at the library for me. Then she took me to Granny and Harold's in the hopes she could keep me awake a little bit longer. It worked. We read books, rode around in my little car, and played outside for a few minutes. It was 103 degrees today. What does that mean? Well I don't know other than it was HOT!

Ok I think I will head to bed now. I think mommy mentioned to daddy today about going to see Mrs. Brandi tomorrow for lunch. Guess mommy has a play date (hehehe). Night night!

The Fourth, Fun, and It's Almost Friday

Sunday was the fourth of July. Apparently we are supposed to party on the 4th of every month now. Not sure why. Anyway we went to Golden Corral with Granny, Harold, and Robert for breakfast. Then we spent the morning with them. That afternoon mommy woke me up from my nap and we went Abby's house. And that crazy girl was sleeping when we got there. Didn't she remember I was coming? Anyway I played with a few of her toys while she napped. Then her mommy woke her up and we played together. Mommy and I stayed at her house for a long time. We played and played. I ate dinner at her house. It was a little strange going to someone else's house. I had a good time though. Oh and they had a dog that snored like mommy and daddy. I felt at home :) Even though I think mommy had a good time I know she missed daddy and so did I. We never go places without daddy, and when we do we don't have as much fun. I don't think we did anything special Monday. We did go swimming. Then me and mommy took a nap at Granny and Harold's while dinner was being cooked. We had meat loaf (yummy), sweet potatoes, green beans, and salad (yuck). Yesterday we went to the library and I turned in my Summer Reading booklet and I got a fish (not a real one), a certificate, and lots of coupons to get free food at different places. Mommy read 11 books to me from the library this summer so I got lots of cool stuff. Thanks mommy for reading to me! I bet I'm the youngest one signed up for the reading program :) Anyway we went to the library to see Mr. Eric. See he wrote a book called Pete the Cat and it's really good. My Aunt Sharon and Uncle D bought it for me. I took my book and he signed it. And you know what he called me? Groovy Feet! I like that name. It's funny. Now it's Wednesday and we are getting ready for the weekend. What do we have planned this weekend. Nothing. I over heard daddy tell mommy not to plan anything this weekend. We've had plans every weekend this summer and daddy doesn't want to do anything this weekend. Mommy is trying to clean the house tonight so daddy can just relax this weekend! So that's all for now. Hope everyone is having a great day and staying cool! (Oh and sorry for no pictures mommy has filled up the memory card and she is waiting for daddy to download the pictures to a CD so she can start snapping away again!)

9 Months Old

So yesterday (July 1, 2010) I had my 9 month checkup with Dr. Whipple. He is in a new place but it was still my same nurse which I really like. She weighed me and measured me like always. I weigh 24 pounds and 1 ounce. I am 29 1/2 inches tall. Dr. Whipple says I'm going to be a very big, very tall boy. I haven't done a blog like this in a while so here goes...

What I can do
  • sit up by myself most of the time, I still get wobbly sometimes though
  • I can feed myself if it's on my tray
  • I eat big people food like mashed potatoes, green beans, fruit (my favorite vegetable is potatoes, and my favorite fruit...that's hard it's between blueberries and watermelon)
  • I love bread, any kind, biscuits, rolls, buns, just bread
  • I am starting to talk, I say ma-ma, da-da, I said DOG, and mommy is pretty sure she heard me say Cathy, which has prompted her to tell daddy she is to referred to only by Mama and of course mommy says at one time I've said Home and Uncle
  • I love to be outside. I love my stroller, I love my wagon, and I love my green car
  • I crawl backwards and I love to roll everywhere
  • I love riding in the buggy at walmart
  • I love playing with building blocks and I love flash cards
  • I am starting to play with toys when I take my bath
  • I love to swim
  • I love (and I do mean LOVE) dogs!

And for my dislikes...

  • I still hate the car (which is why mommy and daddy haven't got to visit Aunt Jeanine and Angie)
  • I don't like it when daddy drinks from the water bottles and I don't get to have my own
  • I don't like to be left alone
  • I have a tad bit of separation anxiety when my mommy leaves me
  • I don't like it that I can't get down on the ground like all the other kids

Well that pretty much sums up me at this point. I'm teething. I currently have 4 teeth up top and 2 on the bottom. I wear 24 month clothing and I love my mommy and daddy. Life is good!

Spider Man!

Thursday was a very busy day...I had a doctor's appointment early in the morning (see next blog for more on that) then we had lunch, mom did a little shopping at the grocery store, then it was nap time, followed by dinner, and then we went to the library. The kids sang some song about a spider man and then this man came running in the library, and to my surprise he didn't have 8 legs like spiders do. He was dressed in a really tight blue and red outfit (see picture). In fact come to think about it didn't look anything like a spider. So when a man comes dressed up "like a spider" what do you do? Well if you are my mom you hand over your baby and have his picture made :) I thought he looked funny. He was really nice. After the picture mommy took me back in the library and got me 6 books! I forgot to mention I'm in the summer reading program at the library. I've just completed my 11th book which means next time I'll get a fish at the library! Today we didn't do too much. We did take a little walk this morning and one with Aunt Sue and Will this afternoon. It's the weekend and daddy is working :( We have plans for this weekend even though daddy is working. My friend Abby's mom invited us to their house for dinner Sunday. I'm excited! Mommy said they would have a pool that we can play in! Yippie! OK it's late so I better get to bed. Happy Weekend Everyone!
