My Buddy

Tonight is gonna be a short blog because me and mommy are exhausted. She is selling baby stuff tomorrow and we are gonna need our rest. So anyways I wanted to take the time to blog about my buddy Robert. He came over tonight and even though I slept most of the time I'm so glad he was here. He can always make he laugh and I can always make him holler...I like to pull his hair :) He played with me tonight while I was in my swing so mommy could help people with the baby clothes. I sure hope he comes over tomorrow too! I love my buddy :) (And yep I realize this is an older picture but when Robert comes around now we are too busy playing to take time for pictures)

Jump Jump Jump Around

OK so tonight I kept hearing mommy talk about this Johnny Jump Up thing...I figured she was losing her mind. My name isn't Johnny and I'm pretty sure I've never jumped. Anyway mommy's been really busy lately trying to tag stuff and get everything ready for the consignment sale so tonight I thought she was getting me ready for bed...and the next thing I know daddy is hanging something from their bedroom doorway. Well I didn't know what it was and I didn't figure I would find out tonight since it was close to my bed time. Then mommy put me in this contraption. At first I wasn't sure about it. It took them a few minutes to convince me that I could move. Then it was on...I love this thing. I can move without mommy and daddy holding me. I can look in the hallway then spin around and I can see in the bedroom. Mommy is very happy that she can put me down for a few minutes now so she can at least fold a load of clothes. I'm excited that I can move around a bit. Mommy and Daddy laughed at me all night! I think they should rename this though...it should be Corbin Jump Up cause my name isn't Johnny, but I don't think that will happen. Oh well. I love being mobile so watch out world here I come!

Our Day Out with Granny and More

We had a rough night last night. Mommy finally got into a cleaning frenzy and I decided to stop her. She laid me down at 10 last night like usual; 10 minutes later I cried. She got me back to sleep; 15 minutes later I cried. I kept this up til 11. I knew Aunt Brandi was supposed to call so I thought I would spare mom a few minutes. I slept for a little while so she could talk on the phone, but as soon as she hung up I wailed again. I continued this all night long. I knew dad would be coming home around 6:15 so about 5:30 I decided to get a few hours sleep. I slept until 8:45. We went to Granny and Harold's this morning...big surprise huh? Harold went to Villa Rica so mommy, Granny, and I decided to go to Babies R Us and look at strollers. Mommy looked around and Granny went on a mini shopping spree. I got three new bibs, a toy phone, and a buggy cover. If I smiled she bought it. When we left there mommy and granny went to Olive Garden and picked up lunch. We then headed home. We woke Daddy up when we got back and they ate lunch. Daddy had to work so we didn't do anything exciting just spent time together. (Ok I'll admit I started this blog the other day when all this happened but for some reason I got distracted and I didn't finish it so now I'm gonna finish it and fill you in what has happened since then) Wednesday when Daddy got home he went to bed and me and mommy got up and played. We played in my room all morning. A few weeks ago I got a new penguin and for Christmas Aunt Shellie gave me a ball that blows up and when you move it-it plays music...I have fallen in love with those two things. When Daddy woke up we played with him then Mommy and Daddy dropped me off at Granny and Harold's and they went to visit Maw Maw at the nursing home. When they left there they went to Wal-mart to look for me a new car seat. Mommy sold my infant seat and my stroller the other night to a nice couple that is expecting a grandson soon. I didn't like that car seat anyways...it was for babies. I've moved into a bigger seat for big boys. Well long story short they spent a few hours out and came home with nothing. When they got back I was sleeping but I soon woke up and they brought me home. I fought sleep for a little while but around midnight I went to sleep and I slept til 4:30 this morning. 4 and half hours is like heaven to mommy. Today has been pretty uneventful. We've played and done the usual. Went to Granny and Harold's, ran a few errands, napped, ate...you know the drill. Mommy is having an indoor sale of all my clothes plus some girl clothes this weekend so I'm sure new people will be stopping by our house. I'm excited because she's selling my clothes which means I'll have money. YAY! Don't know what I'll buy but I'm sure I will find something. Maybe I'll just put my money in my savings account. Daddy says a penny saved is a penny earned. Well it's late so I'm gonna call it a night and head to bed. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend, we've enjoyed ours with daddy; he has to work this weekend :( Oh I have an update on daddy going to boot camp...the word is that he will leave March 22. We aren't looking forward to it but we know it has to be done. Just thought I would let everyone know. Ok good night :)

Date Night, Lazy Sunday, and a Manic Monday

Saturday night Mommy got me ready then she and daddy dropped me off at Granny and Harold's. Yay for date night because I love staying over there. Apparently mommy and daddy just came home and cooked dinner and talked. BORING...I'm glad I was at Granny and Harold's. I don't know why they think dinner is supposed to be quiet. When I'm home I make sure they know I'm here. Whatever...I got to stay with Granny and Harold for about three hours. Then they picked me back up and we went home. Since it was already getting late mom fed me and put me to bed. I think she and daddy played video games once I went to bed...will they ever grow up? (I secretly hope not) Sunday morning we woke up to a beautiful day. It was actually warm outside. Mom put lots of blankets in my wagon then bundled me up and we went walking. We walked all the way to Granny and Harold's. We visited with them for a little while but I was anxious to walk back home. I love the outdoors, and I'm amazed by the wind! When we got home we went to the dollar store and then we spend the rest of the evening just laying around. Mom even let me take a nap in my wagon inside of course. Daddy had to stay up all last night to get back on schedule...it's a long week at work, which means our weekend will actually be Wednesday and Thursday...confusing huh? It's taking some time but mommy and I are starting to get used to it. We are just dreading when he leaves for Forsyth, but mommy is looking forward to throwing daddy a big graduation party! Well it's getting late and I better head to bed. Oh and I got a gift today...I got diapers and food...and from who you might ask? My Aunt Sharon and Uncle D. They usually buy me a gift for every month...this month I got two gifts...or maybe this gift is my early 5 Month gift...either way Thanks Aunt Sharon and Uncle D I'll think of you every time I use my diaper :)

Mommy's Hero :)

Well let's see I've been so busy it's been hard to keep up on here. So let's play my favorite blogging game...Catch up with Corbin...so ok my last post I told you we were spending the night at Granny and Harold's, well we didn't. Mom put me to bed at 10 and about 10:30 I woke back up. We played then at midnight I still wouldn't go to sleep so Harold brought us home. Mom fed me and I went right to sleep. Granny and Harold's house is fun but that night I just wanted my own bed. Last Saturday was pretty fun. We mostly just hung around Granny and Harold's and played. I have a toy box over there with all kinds of toys in it. I've got a jukebox, books, a phone, a ring stacker, and tools. Sunday was Valentine's Day, not sure what this is, seems kind of silly to me to pick one day out of the year to tell someone you love them. Mommy and Daddy tell me every day. Mommy says this holiday is made up from the people at Hallmark just to make more money. Mommy and Daddy don't celebrate it. They are anti-Valentine. But despite that we did meet up with Granny and Harold at Golden Corral on Valentine's Day morning for breakfast. Daddy got off work then we headed out there. Sunday afternoon we went to Franklin with Granny to go buy groceries. When we got back Harold had bought Granny, Mommy, Aunt Sharon, and me a gift. Granny, Aunt Sharon, and Mommy all got a rose and a box of chocolates. I got a basket with a bear, candy, a rose, and a balloon. I love my balloon and my bear! Daddy was off work Monday and Tuesday this week. We spent our days here at the house relaxing. Daddy worked Wednesday and Thursday, and he had to go run Thursday. He ran the mile in 13 minutes and 48 seconds. Phew! Sounds hard to me. They told him to work on getting it down to 13 minutes flat and I'm sure he will! He also had to go to the shooting range. He scored an 89 on his test (you have to make at least a 80 to pass). We are so proud of daddy! They are talking about him going to "boot camp" in March. Mommy is happy and sad. Happy because she is thankful daddy has a job and he loves it, but sad that we won't see very much of him for awhile. Daddy is excited but he says he will miss us. Mommy has me on a good schedule of eating, sleeping, and playing, so we will see how much this throws me off. Yesterday we let Daddy sleep in because he worked really long hours Thursday. When he woke up we went and visited Maw-Maw Marks then we picked Robert up and we went to The Hollow to pick up dinner. I got to spend lots of time with Harold and Granny yesterday. Now on to today. I woke up at 6 am ready to play which is better than Thursday night, because I woke at 2 am then and wouldn't go back to sleep until 5:30. Mommy and Daddy were up too so we all got ready and headed to wal-mart to pick up groceries for this week. I did really good. I only got fussy once and we were there a long time. When we got back home Aunt Shellie and Devin came by. Aunt Shellie got a new apartment and mommy and daddy gave her some lamps for her new place. Mommy and Daddy said I could stay with Aunt Shellie the next time they have to run to Target because I don't like that place. Now I just woke up from my nap and mommy is gonna give me my bath because tonight I'm going to Granny and Harold's so mommy and daddy can have date night. I don't know what they do when I'm not around. I bet they wonder what I'm doing. Ok I guess I need to go so I can get ready. Since Daddy works all week I'm sure I will be able to keep up with my blog. It's hard to play all day then remember to blog at night :) Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Good Grief...

Those shots hurt. Tuesday after I blogged mom loaded me up in the car and we left. I was really good while we were in car so I should at least get an award for that. Once we pulled up in the parking lot of the Health Department it was a different story though. I remembered that place and what they did to me last time. I whined the entire time. I was hoping the with all the whining mom would change her mind and not make me get those shots. Wrong. We they called my name we went into a different room. Miss Shirley took me and laid me down and wow I saw spongebob on the ceiling. Woo hoo for spongebob. I was wishing my dad was there with us...he loves spongebob. Miss Shirley raised me up and gave me something to eat. Some gross liquid medicine. Yuck. Doesn't she know I've started food now. I didn't want that. Then she laid me back down and I stared at spongebob some more then WHAM...I didn't know what hit me. Then it happened again...and again. Three shots. :( They sure did hurt. I will give it to her; she's fast but it still hurts. I pouted. Even though it didn't do any good I still did it. When my shots were over we left there and went to the bank. Mommy had to pull over to hold me because I wouldn't stop screaming. She didn't mind though. She must have had shots before too because she held me and tried to make me feel better. We went to Granny and Harold's because Daddy was having to sleep and we didn't want to wake him up. I spent the rest of the day whiney and tired. Wednesday when Daddy got home he laid down to sleep for a little while then he and mommy decided they would go out to dinner since daddy had a little birthday money left over. They dropped me off at Granny and Harold's so I could play. Mommy and Daddy went to La Hacienda then they went to Wal-mart. When they got back I was really happy to see them (mostly because they bought me a rattle and flashcards...yes flashcards mommy thinks I'm gonna learn everything before I'm one apparently) Thursday we didn't do much. We just hung out around the house. We spent time with daddy on his last day off. He has to work all weekend long. Now it's Friday and it's a snow day. A bunch of white stuff is on the ground and it's cold. We are staying at Granny and Harold's tonight just in case things get worse we won't be by ourselves. Daddy is working all weekend long :( We've had fun so far. Mommy, Granny, Harold, and Robert had pizza and now we are all just hanging out watching tv. I had applesauce for dinner and I'm ready for breakfast now :) Well I don't want to be rude and stay on the computer while I'm here tonight so I better go. Happy Snow Day :)

What I Love

I have a few minutes before I have to go get my shots so I thought I would take the time to post a few things I love at the moment.

• I love food...butternut squash, peas, sweet potatoes...you name it I love it!
• I love Itsy Bitsy Spider and playing patty cake
• I love playing peek-a-boo with my Granny and Harold
• I love when Aunt Sharon and Uncle D play with me
• I love when I get to lay on the bed and someone plays with me
• I love juice (so far my two favorites are white grape and carrot apple)
• I love to be moving
• I love the tv but please don't stand in front of it
• I love books but they have to have lots of colors and not many words I'm too busy to sit still very long
• I love to be tickled
• I love listening to daddy when he comes home from work, I follow his voice wherever it goes
• Lately I'm loving waking up early (sorry mom)
• I love it when Harold wipes my face with my bib (mom needs to video that)

Now for a few things that I don't care so much for

• riding in the car (they even switched car seats on me, but I don't care I'm just not a car person)
• teeth coming in (which by the way I'm cutting two at once)
• being hungry (if I'm hungry you better feed me if not you will suffer)
• gas; it's just painful
• apple juice
• going to bed early (mom says I get this from daddy)
• daddy working crazy hours (but it's a job and we are very thankful for it; ok mostly that one was for mommy as long as I see Daddy during the day I don't care when he works)
• I don't like hiccups, but I get them every time I laugh so I just deal with them
• I don't like the song Wheels on the Bus, but this partly mommy's fault because she usually sings it in the car when I'm crying so I can play the part of the baby on the bus (don't tell her but she's not funny)
• I don't like Target, we've been shopping lots of places I just don't like that place and I let it be known (who wants to go in somewhere and smell popcorn soon as you walk through the door then not be able to eat any? not me)
• I don't like it when mommy and daddy eat but I can't eat what they are eating

Ok that pretty much sums up my likes and dislikes. I'm only 4 months old but I do have a personality. I'm for the most part a happy baby. If I'm hungry or wet you will know it. That's not too bad; at least I don't think so. I guess I'm happy because I have lots of family that loves me and I'm just content. Ok time to get ready for shots. I'll update you later on how they went.
